Main organizers of the Congress & Partners The Arctic Ceramic Center (ACC) is co-organizing the 2020 Congress together with the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), and in co-operation with the following institutions: Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture, Aalto University, University of Lapland, The Finnish Cultural Foundation, Arts Promotion Center Finland, Regional Council of Lapland, Pentik Ceramic Factory, Posio Development Ltd., Wilderness Hotel Kirikeskus, Posio municipality, The City of Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi Art Museum, Korundi House of Culture, ARKTIKUM Museum and Science Center, and Lapland’s Chamber of Commerce. The Congress organizers and their partners will support the IAC 2020 Congress and its additional events with financing or other means of support. Local Organizing Committee The local organizing committee will be composed of the co-operating partners’ representatives. Congress Chair The Congress Chair as well as the chairman of the local organizing committee is: Members of the Organizing Committee Suku Park, Reijo Lantto, Anu Pentik, Tapio Yliviikari, Nathalia Lautenbacher, Maarit Mäkelä, Riitta Talonpoika, Pekka Paikkari, Johanna Rytkölä, Karin Widnäs, Mari Paikkari, Eliisa Isoniemi. Congress office and on-site staff Technical arrangements for the congress (registrations, registration fees and hotel bookings) will be handled by the University of Lapland’s congress office, Rovaniemi-Lapland Congresses. Support and sponsors We have received additional support from other institutions, associations, art galleries and artists. All this support constitutes a significant contribution that will ensure the success of this global ceramic event. The Finnish IAC members have made significant contributions over several years in the planning of the Congress – both its program and its accompanying events. Other sponsors The amount of private sponsorship and support from public sources remains an estimation. The organizers plan to apply for funding from private companies interested in ceramics as a contemporary art. |
